For 20 years, Melanie Katin, DACM, L.Ac. has been helping people of all ages restore their sense of health and wellbeing. She had a successful practice in New York City for 14 years, before returning to her hometown of Chicago. She specializes in Traditional Chinese herbal medicine and gentle Japanese Acupuncture to assist in your healing, remove the stress in your body, and to naturally prevent illness or pain. She views her role as a partner in your path back to the state of health where you felt your best. East Asian medicine (EAM) is a comprehensive element of an integrative approach to your healing.

Dr. Katin is dedicated to provide excellent and compassionate care, and offers private acupuncture sessions for both adults and children. She was one of the only pediatric specialists in New York City, and treated patients from around the world.  From 2006-2019, she was a professor of Chinese medical theory, pediatrics and oncology in EAM, and herbal medicine at Pacific College of Health Sciences-NYC, and was the Chair of the herbal department at the Chicago campus. She has published articles on EAM about children with sensory processing disorder and atopic diseases in OM Magazine, on thyroid disorders in The Illinois Acupuncturist, and has been interviewed by Natural Awakenings magazine.

The areas of specialization in her practice are pediatric health, allergies & digestive disorders, headaches/migraines, endocrine/hormone imbalances, and support during cancer treatments. She has also worked extensively with kidney and liver transplant patients pre-and post-surgery, as well as post-stroke recovery.
